Clothing and footwear

The pedal box is ridiculously narrow on that thing. Only the narrowest and thinnest soles can allow for a pleasant driving experience. Something as fancy as not applying gas when braking. The bar is that low.

Sparco boots are just not my jam, I drive it as a daily and go to work with it quite a lot. I've found a pair of decent Schott sneakers to do the job.

I usually wear my Alpha Industries bomber jacket, in rep. blue (dark blue). I wanted the color to be the complementary of the yellow of the car. It's very practical as it's close to the body, and I like the shoulder pocket to stuff my card-holder/wallet.

The wool scarf if often needed too unless the weather is well over 20°C

On the head, a tactical water repellent and heat insulated baseball cap from Helikon-Tex, with their "shark skin" fabric.  Also in navy blue.  Or my old beanie, it has an union jack and all.

For gloves, a pair of MX Techstar from Alpinestars, designed for motocross. They only provide rip protection, not that it is really needed.

All of this is only required in mild or cold weather with the roof off. If the roof is fitted, a t-shirt or sweater is more than enough. It's never too cold in a closed Caterham.

A pair of sunglasses is always welcome. I also got a pair of super cheap photochromic glasses used by cyclists, I use them when the sky is covered or when it's raining. A kind of rainglasses.

Down below : removing shoes that are too big for the pedal box is often preferable
