Caterham owners' blogs and Youtube channels
Here is a selection of blogs I have read over the months and found most insightful. They usually focus more on the assembly than the driving or daily life with a Caterham.
- Caterham Seven 170R build blog by Lee, who administers the Caterham Suzuki Owners Facebook group
- My 170S build - a newbie tries his hand at building a car again a great resource that details the assembly process
- Caterham 160 Build Diary whose URL is just a neighbour of mine, also a step by step detail of the self assembly.
- Caterham 7 Diaries 420R with a lot of mechanical adventures and how-to's
- Caterham 7 420R build blog, the title is self-explanatory
- Caterham 270R racing blog by Daniel French
- Purplemeanie "a Caterham Seven blog"
- LE60-SEVEN build blog from Gavin, who will soon begin the assembly of his LE60-CAT
- A Caterham 310S Build by David White, who maintains a rather exhaustive list of other build blogs
For good measure, here are also the few vlog Youtube channels I have watched a lot of.
- Rob Oldland with very hands-on advice around racing, but most of it does apply to road cars too.
- simonbennet3 with a step by step vlog of the 420R assembly, an experience shared with his father, the first engine startup made for a really pleasant watch
- A Caterham Called Fern by James Morris, I assume everyone follows him at this point.
- Turn 7 Caterham would deserve a dedicated blog post to list all their best how-to's but you're safe with how to get in and out, how to deal with the full hood, how to fit the aeroscreen, how to adjust the headlights, ...
- HWM Caterham also have some nice how-to's, Caterham 170 - All you need to know is a good start.
- The Academy Racer series on the official Caterham Youtube channel just finished with the end of the 2024 season. It follows Sam Parker in her Caterham Academy experience.
- FonzeyOnTrack is busy building his 2025 Academy car.
